Abby + Stephen | Ballpark Proposal Story {Tulsa Wedding Videographer}

Abby and Stephen got married today, which means we get to share their love story! What I love about Abby and Stephen: they’re goofy, funny, totally and completely in love, and I think Abby is the only person I’ve met who can talk faster than I. haha We were already going to be shooting their wedding, and then they were the winning bidders on our Love Story at The Tulsa Wedding Society Gives Back auction benefiting The Little Light House. I don’t often spend a lot of time on the “proposal story” in our Love Story films, but their’s was just so fun and they both got so animated telling the story. Plus, it was on TV so we were able to get the footage from FOX Sports Southwest. Score! (which was a total surprise to them and their reactions were priceless.) So take five minutes to get to know Abby and Stephen and we’re sure you’ll love them as much as we do.

Thanks to their coordinator Erica Weddings for being my equipment girl on the shoot. ;-) And thanks to Los Cabos Mexican Grill & Cantina Broken Arrow, Tulsa Drillers Baseball, and ONEOK Field for letting us shoot at their facilities.

Brooke + Alex | Tulsa Wedding Film {Oklahoma Wedding Videographer}

Brooke and Alex had a beautiful wedding on the golf course at Southern Hills Country Club, followed by a crazy rockin’ reception back inside. (seriously, Professor D, uh-mazing band!!!) But more important than all of that was the emotion felt and expressed throughout the entire weekend. At their rehearsal dinner at the Tulsa Historical Society we learned that this bunch is not afraid to shed a tear or two… or fifty. And admittedly, I love that! When we’re shooting a wedding I can’t help but get excited when you can feel and see the love in a room. So Alex, I’m sorry we didn’t edit out all of the crying. ;-) But I just couldn’t help myself. I couldn’t help but show how fun and loving and emotional and crazy all of you are, because that’s what makes a wedding like this so special.

Jessica + JP | Tulsa Wedding Film {Oklahoma Wedding Videographer}

One of our favorite things about working with Jessica and JP was that we got to know them while planning and shooting their love story, so on their wedding day it was just like seeing old friends. There is a fun, quirkiness to these two, but I must say that what really moved me throughout the day was their emotional side. They placed such an emphasis on family and it made everything so special. I even remember Jessica telling me early on that they wanted their wedding to feel more like a family reunion, and I think they definitely accomplished that. One of my favorite details from their wedding was their guest book, or rather, “guest bench.” Guests signed a beautiful piece of wood furniture that is sure to become a family heirloom.

Katie + Brian | Boston Wedding Film {Massachusetts Wedding Videographer}

There is so much I could say about Katie & Brian and their wedding weekend. It was my (Sarah’s) first time in Boston and we had such a blast checking out this historic city that our bride and groom love so much. They are a laid back and fun-loving couple, but still very driven by hard work and their faith. Their friends and family welcomed us as if we were one of their own, which made our time with them absolutely fly by. (We also loved meeting and working with their photographer Shyla, who herself is a ray of sunshine). After hearing the story behind why they chose a specific spot for their “first look” I couldn’t help but think “perfection!” when the song I fell in love with for their highlight was called “The Water.” Watch, and you’ll understand why.

Jessica + JP | 16mm Film Love Story {Oklahoma Wedding Videographer}

We’re so excited we finally get to share Jessica and JP’s love story! It debuted at their reception last night. I love the premise behind it. Jess & JP wanted to write their own vows, but they were afraid they’d be too emotional to make it through them during their ceremony. So they wanted to use a love story to convey what they wanted to say to one another. We took a literal approach and had them each write and record their vows separately, and then the first time they saw the video or heard each other’s vows was when the film played at their reception. I’m so happy they trusted us enough to let us do it this way, because it was so fun seeing their reactions.

P.S. Thanks to Paper8 for helping out with some of the details for this shoot, and Kevin Paul Photography who had some old 16mm film lying around and gave it to us when he learned we’d bought a Scoopic. Also, thanks to Jessica and JP for being such troopers. One of our locations was along the Arkansas River. Upon finishing up out there, we turned around to see the water had risen and the path we’d taken was gone! So we all got a little wet, but ended up with a great story. :-)

The Moments | Wedding film watch party {Oklahoma wedding videographer}

If you follow our blog, you know we recently started this thing called “The Moments” where every now and then we share simple little tidbits like a “first look” or a bride reading the letter her groom wrote to her. So I couldn’t help myself when Jennifer and Bryan told us they wanted to have a small watch party when we delivered their full wedding film. What a great idea!!! I will say I got in a bit of trouble when I arrived with camera gear in hand. I believe the quote was “do you ever stop working?” But I promised I’d keep it simple and would still have fun. And boy did we all have a blast. There were definitely plenty of tears, but the laughter stole the show. And can I say how much I love that they had snacks and drinks and even put up decorations?!? This, folks, is why you get a wedding film.

Annalisa + Darren | Life Had Other Plans {Tulsa Wedding Videographer}

Annalisa and Darren were planning a beautiful Spring wedding, when they got some news that changed everything. Annalisa had a brain tumor and would need surgery soon. So with the help of family and friends, they pulled together a simple but wonderful wedding in ten days. Ten days!!! There were touches of love everywhere, from the handmade streamers for their sendoff and the table runners sewn by Darren’s mom, to the potluck meal provided by their guests. Rather than continue typing, I’ll let Annalisa and Darren tell you their story themselves. But we do want to add that Annalisa goes in for brain surgery on March 13, and I’m sure your prayers would mean the world to them.

The Moments | Groom’s Letter to his Bride {Oklahoma Wedding Videographer}

Normally we share recaps of the wedding day, whether in a short “movie trailer” teaser, or a longer highlight film. But sometimes it’s nice just to see one special moment, all by itself. Because it’s those moments that make up the day, but all too often go by so quickly. It’s those moments that touch our hearts with their simplicity and emotion, and we need to hang on to them. So here is a moment I came across while working on Kaitlyn and Luis’ wedding film, and I just had to share. Kaitlyn is darling and she got emotional a number of times throughout the day; during their ceremony at St. Francis Catholic Church, when her dad saw her in her gown for the first time, and especially during one moment at the Colcord Hotel while the girls were getting ready. We love it when brides and grooms exchange gifts or letters, and this is no exception. If Kaitlyn’s reading of Luis’ letter to her doesn’t get you at least a little choked up, then we need to talk. ;-)

Laura + James | Dallas Wedding Film {Texas Wedding Videographer}

Where do I begin with these two? Really, I should say “these 50″ because everyone made us feel like family the entire weekend. We ate together, went bowling together, and of course, laughed and cried together. James’ mom Connie had us come for the rehearsal dinner at Seasons 52 so we could capture the toasts, and I was blown away. Two words sum up the resounding theme; faith and friends. Speech after speech confirmed that Laura and James are basically so perfect, it’s hard to believe they’re real people. Although there was a mention of braces, bangs and glasses in Laura’s past. ;-) Seriously though, we didn’t have to be around them for very long to realize they are fun, genuine, loving people, who will make an amazing couple.

p.s. Yes Connie, we must get a pedi together some day. :-)

Melissa + Edward | OKC Wedding Film {Oklahoma Wedding Videographer}

Melissa and Edy had a timeless, classic wedding. Their ceremony at Christ The King was beautiful, and it fit perfectly with their elegant reception at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. But the most important thing to them both was family. Relatives came from all over the world, and you could tell it meant a lot to have them all there. And boy did they ever celebrate! I think they would have danced to the Groove Merchants all night long if they could have.
