You may have noticed some of our fun Facebook posts over the past week about our road trip to Charleston, South Carolina. Or perhaps you saw the relentless number of tweets featuring the #infocusevent hashtag and thought “what the heck is that?” We attended a conference for wedding and event filmmakers called IN[FOCUS], and we decided to make it a road trip. Please pardon the iPhone pictures… we spend a lot of time “behind the lens” and decided not to spend our sort-of-vacation trying to professionally document the whole thing. Our first stop was in Memphis. We had scrumptious bar-b-que and made a stop at Graceland.
Our next stop was in Atlanta. But we didn’t take any pictures here, basically just crashed… so, on to Charleston. The buildings and churches in downtown Charleston are amazing. I want to make a trip back there when we’ll have more time to sight-see.
The conference itself was so inspiring! The speakers were fantastic, we got to see friends we’d not seen in over a year, and we made so many new friends too. Seriously, this room is jam-packed with some of the best wedding filmmakers in the world.
Thanks to David Robin of David Robin Films for these two great pics.
Yes, the rumors are true… Rick and I both got a little crazy on the karaoke stage too.
We had a few hours our last day in Charleston to take in the sights… not nearly enough time.
We stayed at Treasure Island Bed & Breakfast on our way back. Our hosts Earl & Lillie were great, and made a fabulous breakfast.
Did I mention the bed & breakfast was near Talladega Super Speedway? Yes, it’s true, I’m a NASCAR fan. 🙂
Took a track tour… it’s amazing seeing that banking in person! That’s us in Victory Lane on the right.
There are so many other pictures I’d love to share, but this blog post is long enough already. It truly was an amazing week. We learned so much, and I can’t wait to apply our newfound knowledge to our business and our wedding films. I miss everyone already, but it is great to be home and back to doing what we love. Until next year…
